Charging
and recharging - We do it daily at home,
work, in the
car, everywhere. But did you know you can
prolong battery life? Below are several ways
you can make your batteries last longer.
1) Airplane
mode: WHen you are playing games, using your
phone for something other then a phone call,
internet, or if you aren't using your phone
at all, turn on airplane mode. This mode
will use a lot less power, WHen gaming or
using any app, there will be no ads running
during app usage.
2) Keep the battery cool. Your battery will last longest if used near room
temperature. High temperatures wears on
battery life. Avoid leaving your phone in a hot car or in direct sunlight, and you don’t have to carry your phone in your pocket, where your body heat will raise its temperature. In addition, check the battery while it’s charging. If it seems excessively hot, your charger may be malfunctioning.
3) Turn off the vibrate function on your phone, using just the ring tone. The vibrate function uses additional battery power. Keep the ring tone volume as low as possible.
4) Do not follow the method of full charge and full discharge. Avoid letting your cell phone's battery run all the way down. Unlike nickel-based batteries (such as the NiCd or NiMH rechargeable AA batteries seen in most supermarkets), lithium-based batteries are designed to be charged early and often, and letting them get too low can damage the battery.
Performing shallow discharges and frequent charging prolongs battery
life with Lithium batteries.
5) Turn off
Bluetooth. This drains the battery very quickly.
6) Turn down the phones brightness. If you
dot need it, turn it down.
7) Use GSM rather than 3G. Using 3G / Dual Mode will drain the battery quicker than
GSM mode. look at your phones spec and you'll see it will quote two different battery life times - normally 50% more for pure GSM use.
8) Avoid using moving or animated pictures or videos for your
background on your screen. Animated backgrounds will drain the battery
much faster.
9) Avoid using the flash on camera phones. The flashes are powerful and uses lots of energy, especially if you take multiple shots in a row.
10) Turn off
GPS
Tracking. Try to use it only when navigation and location services are key.
Please do not
text and drive! Do it for yourself , family, friends,
others on the road, and for the love of
science!
